All students in grades 1–7 receive access to four core disciplines—English Language, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies—delivered entirely in English.

In the first semester, students in grades 1–4 focus on mastering Mathematics and Science terminology alongside foundational English language elements appropriate for their grade level, such as the alphabet, colours, and shapes. This early emphasis on mathematical equations and basic vocabulary aids in developing proficiency in English terminology, forming a strong foundation for maintaining academic English in subsequent grades.

At home, students in grades 1–4 are encouraged to review material covered during school lessons. Parents or guardians can assist their children in these review sessions, which typically require 2–3 hours per week. This supplementary engagement reinforces classroom learning and promotes consistent progress.

Students in grades 5–7 independently study on the platform at home in their free time, complementing their homework and extracurricular activities. During the school week, they review the material under teacher supervision during lessons. Weekly, they complete one lesson in each core discipline—English Language, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies—requiring approximately 3–4 hours of study.

The platform provides students with the flexibility to repeat lessons, access a variety of educational videos in English, and retake tests to achieve optimal results. The highest test score from multiple attempts is considered in the final grade evaluation.

During the first academic year, which serves as an introduction to the platform, homework assignments are not mandatory.

Students in grades 5–7 have the opportunity to attend 40-minute lecture-style webinars one to three times a week in the evenings. These webinars reinforce educational material presented on the platform in English and supplement lessons taught at school in the student’s native language. They are particularly beneficial for families who may face challenges supporting their child’s independent review of material.

Webinars focus on:
-        Reinforcing vocabulary and understanding meanings.
-        Practicing pronunciation and correctly structured phrases.
-        Solving test tasks related to the platform curriculum.

Parent Engagement and Support
To ensure effective use of the platform, masterclasses, and training webinars are provided for parents of students in grades 1–7 during the first month of enrolment. These sessions held weekly on Saturdays, introduce parents to the platform’s tools and offer methodological recommendations for supporting their child’s learning. Parents are encouraged to attend at least one webinar to better understand the platform’s role within the GSED® Program.

Student Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic year, students will have built a robust foundation, including:
-        Expanded English vocabulary.
-        Mastery of basic terminology for disciplines taught in English.
-        Improved listening comprehension and pronunciation skills through platform exercises.
-        Practical application of terms and phrases in lessons, presentations, and conversations.
-        Enhanced communication skills, including the ability to understand native speakers during webinars facilitated by bilingual specialists.

Educational Delivery Model for Students in Grades 8–11
Students in grades 8–11 engage in systematic and intensive study sessions on the online educational platform, primarily at home. These sessions are designed to support the acquisition of required credits for obtaining the internationally recognized U.S. High School Diploma while preparing students for university admissions.
The program includes:
-        Systematic study of core disciplines in English.
-        Academic and technical consultations at school with qualified teachers.
-        Webinars led by native speakers to enhance language skills.
-        Online meetings with internationally renowned speakers to broaden horizons and support career development.

The primary distinction between senior (grades 8–11) and junior students (grades 1–7) lies in the intensity and systematic nature of the training. Senior students focus on developing critical skills such as independent learning, time and task management, identifying and addressing knowledge gaps, and preparing for tests and exams. These skills enable students to confidently apply theoretical knowledge in practice, including during presentations, project work, and international Olympiads.

Students in grades 8–9 have access to classes at school (academic consultations) to address questions and challenges encountered during independent study on the platform. These consultations, facilitated by qualified teachers, occur during specially allocated lessons at least twice per week. Over a month, students receive targeted support in English Language, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

The platform’s curriculum aligns with the material taught in students’ native schools, incorporating the American K-12 standard. This approach allows students to revisit topics from the national curriculum in English, enhancing their understanding and applying accumulated knowledge to new material. Additionally, exposure to diverse approaches to solving academic problems fosters critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Webinars for Skill Development
Webinars with Native Speakers
Students in grades 8–11 participate in 60-minute webinars, held three times per week in the evenings. These webinars, led by professional native-speaking teachers, focus on developing communication skills, listening comprehension, and the ability to understand and engage with authentic English speech.

Webinars with International Speakers
Students in grades 10–11 also attend monthly webinars with internationally recognized experts in various fields, including law, business, education, and medicine. These sessions introduce students to career possibilities, modern professional trends, and innovative approaches to success, guiding them in defining their professional interests and future career paths.

Goals and Academic Objectives
For Grades 8–9:
-        Expand English vocabulary and master terminology for disciplines taught in English.
-        Study subject content in alignment with international standards.
-        Practice listening, pronunciation, and the use of structured phrases through platform exercises.
-        Develop communication skills through webinars and guided classroom activities.

For Grades 10–11:
-        Develop independent learning and self-management skills.
-        Manage time and academic tasks effectively.
-        Identify and address gaps in knowledge.
-        Prepare for international tests and exams.
-        Deepen discipline-specific knowledge and apply it in practice, including during project work and presentations.
-        Explore professional interests and build confidence in academic strengths.

To support students who demonstrate low activity on the platform, weekly catch-up classes are organized in school classrooms under teacher supervision. These sessions help students address missed material and regain alignment with the program’s objectives.

Credit-Based Achievement in Case of Integration with National Education
In the state of California, USA, students are required to earn 24 credits to obtain an international diploma. However, international students may transfer grades equivalent to 9 credits (covering previously completed disciplines) from their national high school diploma. As a result, these are required to complete 15 credits on the educational platform (some of them are not covered by the national standards, such as U.S. History, U.S. Government & Civics, Sociology, and Psychology). This is required to obtain a U.S. High School Diploma and ensures that students meet international educational benchmarks while broadening their academic experiences.

This structured and multifaceted learning approach provides students with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary for academic success and future professional growth.

METHODOLOGICAL GUIDE AND ACADEMIC TIPS FOR GSED® STUDENTS
This section aims to provide:
  • Clear explanations of the methodological principles for independently studying educational content and mastering the substantive part of disciplines in English.
  • Practical academic advice to help students achieve native-level proficiency in disciplines taught in English.
  • Guidance on identifying knowledge gaps and errors, developing self-monitoring skills, and determining the depth of understanding for each subject.

Academic Goals for Students
Setting academic goals and effectively planning the time and effort required to achieve them is a cornerstone of the GSED® learning approach.
Each student is unique and possesses individual capabilities for assimilating material. GSED® enables students to independently set their academic goals, select methods to achieve them, and plan the necessary time to reach these objectives.
Unlike traditional schools in the United States, Switzerland, England, or other countries—where academic goals, learning objectives, and schedules are predetermined—GSED® provides a flexible and student-centered learning environment. Students are empowered to choose their desired level of mastery, assess their academic resources, and progress toward their goals at a pace suited to their needs.

Self-assessment and self-control are integral to the GSED® methodology. Through regular tests conducted after lessons, sections, or at the end of the school year, students develop skills to:
  • Identify knowledge gaps and pinpoint topics requiring further review.
  • Address deficiencies by revisiting content and retaking tests to achieve optimal results.

Academic Tips for Students and Parents
  1. Track Progress and Plan Improvements: Creating a detailed schedule in advance is essential. Students should allocate and adjust their workload (including independent study hours on the platform) across weekdays and weekends. The GSED® platform enables real-time tracking of academic progress. Students can identify gaps, address them promptly, and plan their learning journey to ensure the successful completion of the course within their desired timeframe.

  1. Personalized Learning Pace: The platform allows for personalized learning at an individualized pace. Students are encouraged to allocate additional time to complex topics and revisit covered material as needed. The focus should always be on achieving a deep and thorough understanding of the subject matter.

  1. Utilize All Available Platform Resources: The GSED® platform offers a variety of educational materials, including:
  • Lesson texts that simulate classroom teaching in the U.S.
  • Licensed educational video materials.
  • Interactive assignments and tests.
Students should take full advantage of these resources to enhance their understanding of the subject matter.

  1. Regular Knowledge Checks: Interactive tasks and tests on the platform, such as mini-tests, crosswords, term-matching exercises, and pair-finding activities, help students monitor their learning progress. Regularly completing these tasks ensures a thorough understanding of the material and helps identify areas for improvement.

  1. Retake Tests for Mastery: Many platform tests allow multiple attempts. Students should use this opportunity to consolidate their knowledge, identify mistakes, and achieve improved results.

  1. Communicate in English: Students should engage with teachers and peers using the platform’s forums and chats. These tools enable discussions on complex topics, debates, and constructive feedback in English.

  1. Develop Analytical Thinking in English: Carefully reading assignment instructions and test questions fosters analytical thinking in English. This skill ensures accurate comprehension of questions and formulation of correct responses.

  1. Use the Text-to-Audio Function: The platform’s text-to-audio feature helps students improve their pronunciation and listening skills. Listening to new terms and phrases establishes a strong foundation for understanding native English speakers.

  1. Work with the Glossary: Each discipline on the platform includes a glossary of terms. Regularly reviewing terminology aids in effectively presenting lessons and understanding subject-specific language.

  1. Take Notes and Summaries: The platform’s note-taking feature helps students organize key information and prepare effectively for tests and exams.

Recommendations for Parents Supporting Online and Offline Learning
  1. Be involved in your child's academic program of study: Make sure that your child is challenged and taking courses now that will help meet future goals. Using FEYDEY LMS (Learning Management System – Parents account), track students' progress.

  1. Prevent your child from getting lost in the shuffle: Be vigilant in keeping in touch with teachers and checking your child's grades on FEYDEY LMS regularly.

  1. Remember that all teenagers (including straight-A students) need proper supervision: This supervision includes online supervision and supervision of technology. Remember, good kids make mistakes too. Your child should always know that you love them and have high expectations.

  1. Know your child's friends: Research shows that when a student faces a critical decision, the influence of peers (positive and negative) and parents/families make the difference.

  1. Get to know your child's teachers and guidance counsellor: Stay in positive contact with the teachers and do not be afraid to ask for help. Monthly live meetings with teachers are recommended.

  1. Encourage your child to find an adult mentor: Research shows that when a student makes positive connections with adults (teachers, guidance counsellors, coaches, etc.), it helps students as they cope with struggles.

Limit and monitor the media to which your child is exposed: Studies indicate that excessive screen time can negatively affect academic performance. Encourage more engagement with professional learning platforms rather than entertainment.

GUIDANCE & COUNSELLING
FEYDEY recognizes that guidance and counselling are an important part of the total program of instruction. The general goal of this program is to help students achieve the greatest personal value from their educational opportunities. FEYDEY guidance and counselling will:

FEYDEY High School Credit Recovery Courses
Our mission is to provide students with the opportunity for academic achievement and recognize that some students need additional assistance and opportunities for academic success. Credit recovery classes are available to transfer students and students who have failed a class two times. These courses are not an option for students who simply give up or have poor attendance. All students wishing to enroll in a credit recovery class must be prepared through the principal.

Early Graduation

Any student interested in early graduation should consult with the principal by November of their junior year. Early graduates must fulfil the exact credit requirements as regular graduates. Also, students competing for valedictorian or salutatorian may not graduate early.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
The student will be granted the FEYDEY - U.S. High School Diploma only after graduation from a major National state or private school and successfully receiving home country Attestat or Diploma, as up to 9 credits have to be transferred from home school transcript to FEYDEY.

Please see the graduation requirements.

Changing or Dropping Courses
Every effort is made to register students into the course of study they indicate and that the school counsellor approves. All students are encouraged to enroll in challenging classes that will help prepare them for their stated educational and/or vocational goals. Students are allowed to add/drop courses only through the fourth day of instruction each semester.
Seniors must ensure that they are enrolled in courses which are not only rigorous, but that will also best prepare them for their post-secondary plans. Seniors are only able to enroll in one non-academic course. Modifications to this may be granted by the school counsellor.

Report Cards & Transcripts
Report cards will be given to students on the week following the end of each nine-week grading period. Grades are reported to the office and parents by using the letter system of A, B, C, D and F. Mid-term progress report slips will be turned into the office at the end of the fifth week of each quarter for mailing to parents/guardians.
Transcripts may be requested from either the school secretary or the school counselor. Transcript requests will be processed within two business days.
All classes attempted at FEYDEY, and all acceptable transfer credits shall be recorded on the transcript. All grades earned, including failures and repeated courses, shall be recorded and utilized in the calculation of Grade Point Average and class rank. Credit shall be awarded only once regardless of repetition of the course. Courses are repeated only when a student has failed the course initially or in the instance of courses (such as band, choir, etc.) where it is appropriate to enroll in the course more than once. Students may not elect to simply take a course more than once.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

All children with disabilities can join the academic year at FEYDEY through distance learning. FEYDEY's LMS allows students with special needs to have individualized and personalized distance learning, online and live tutoring. Each student who qualifies for special education services will be placed on a FEYDEY Individual Education Plan (FIEP) that addresses the specific needs of that student. Special education students will receive specific assistance as determined during that student's Evaluation Report meeting. The special education program has the following goals: improved student success and the acquisition of lifelong learning skills that will enable students to become successful adults.

INTERVENTION

Teachers routinely assess each student in the school to provide targeted interventions in reading and mathematics. Student interventions are consistently monitored for fidelity to ensure that students are challenged, are making adequate progress, and are prepared for the next grade level and graduation. These interventions include a range of support for students, encompassing academic support, behavioral support, and gifted and talented education. All interventions are provided by the school at no additional cost to families.

TECHNOLOGY & DIGITAL RESOURCES

COMPUTER RESOURCESAcceptable Use Policy: Network & Internet Access
FEYDEY Internet access to students which provides vast, diverse and unique resources for students and staff. Our goal in providing this resource is to promote a community of educational excellence by facilitating resource sharing, innovation and communication.
FEYDEY LMS (Learning Management System) gives students the unique opportunity to personalize learning, meaning that the content is customized to the interests and learning style of each individual student.
Each student's learning process is individualized, meaning that different students will start at different points in the curriculum and move at their own speed. These students will be evaluated against their ability to demonstrate understanding of a particular subject and showcase their skill.
Each student's independent online learning journey at FEYDEY is supported by professional British and American teachers. Daily scheduled webinars or on-demand live instruction are available throughout the Academic Year.
Students will be regularly asked to make school applicable to real-life. Projects within courses will ask students to develop, explore, create, communicate and evaluate content in English.
Internet access to computers and people all over the world brings the availability of material that may not be of educational value in the context of the school setting. FEYDEY has taken precautions to filter (block) and monitor access thereby lessening the chances for users to access controversial materials. Users accessing materials deemed inappropriate for school use will be denied Internet privileges.
Use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right. Any action by a student that is determined by an administrator to constitute an inappropriate use of the Internet will result in the removal of those privileges. The following guidelines are provided before use so that students and their guardians are aware of the responsibilities of being a Network User.

COMPLAINTS & FEEDBACKUniform Complaint Procedure
The Board has established this Uniform Complaint Procedure to address complaints within the District. This procedure applies to all complaints unless a specific process governed by canton or federal law or a collective bargaining agreement takes precedence. Complaints covered by a collective bargaining agreement will be handled according to its provisions.

FEYDEY encourages all individuals to utilize this complaint procedure if they believe the Board, its employees, or agents have violated their rights under canton or federal law or Board policy.

FEYDEY aims to resolve complaints promptly and equitably, prioritizing informal resolution whenever possible. Filing a complaint through this procedure does not restrict an individual’s right to seek other remedies, nor does it extend any deadlines for pursuing those remedies.

Deadlines for FEYDEY actions outlined in this procedure may be extended as needed to accommodate factors such as legal counsel involvement or school investigatory processes.

Stage 1: Informal Complaint
Individuals are encouraged to first address concerns informally by engaging directly with the relevant staff member, with the goal of resolving the issue promptly and without initiating a formal process. The staff member will document any discussions or resolutions, as needed, to ensure accountability.
Stage 2: Formal Complaint to the Head Teacher
If the matter is not resolved at the informal stage, individuals may file a formal, written complaint with the Head Teacher. This written complaint must include:
  1. A description of the issue.
  2. The individuals involved.
  3. Any previous efforts to resolve the matter.
The Head Teacher will review the complaint and respond in writing within twenty (20) working days, striving to provide an equitable resolution. If the complainant believes the resolution is unsatisfactory, they may escalate the matter further.

Stage 3: Escalation to the Chair of the Governing Body
If the complainant remains dissatisfied with the Head Teacher’s decision, they may submit a written appeal to the Chair of the Governing Body. This written appeal must summarize the complaint, the steps taken, and the reasons for further review.
The Chair will review the matter and respond in writing within twenty (20) working days, outlining their decision and any further actions to be taken. If the complainant believes the Chair’s decision does not adequately address their concerns, they may request a final review.

Stage 4: Governing Body Appeal Panel
If the issue remains unresolved, the complainant may request a review by the Governing Body Appeal Panel. Upon receipt of the appeal, the panel will:
  1. Consider the complaint in detail.
  2. Gather relevant information.
  3. Provide a final, written decision within twenty (20) working days.
The decision of the Governing Body Appeal Panel is final and marks the conclusion of this complaint procedure. This procedure does not preclude individuals from seeking alternative remedies available under applicable law. Deadlines within this process may be extended as necessary to ensure fairness and thorough investigation.
