International Workshop in Astana: K–12 Standards, Accreditation, and PISA Readiness
On April 26, 2025, the Al-Farabi Palace of Schoolchildren in Astana hosted the first international workshop focused on introducing global education standards into schools and colleges across Kazakhstan.
The event was held with the support of the Astana Department of Education in partnership with Array Global Educational Services / WASC (USA) and the Swiss Innovators Club (Switzerland).
Key topics included:
- Integration of K–12 (Common Core, USA) standards into daily teaching;
- Establishment of international classrooms;
- Earning a dual diploma (US High School Diploma + Kazakh Certificate);
- Teacher training for English-medium instruction and AI integration;
- Preparing schools for international accreditation and PISA assessment.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Jacob Francom (Array Global / WASC, USA), shared insights and best practices from accredited schools worldwide.
The event concluded with a hands-on workshop, where school leaders and education officials received expert guidance on implementing international standards in their institutions.
